The ancient road which goes from Macedonia towards Thracia passes near by. Almost third of the municipality’s territory belongs to the Rila National Park. There are numerous attractions around the area from the famous waterfall to the nature reserve Skakavitsa and the resort of Panichishte all of those to be develop in the very near future as rivals to Borovets and Maliovitsa ski centres.
The greatest attraction in this part though is the Geyser-which is a wonder of nature. This is the symbol of the town of Sapareva Bania. Although it is not so famous as the geysers around the world as the ones in Iceland, New Zealand ,Kamchatka Peninsula in Far East of Russia and the ‘’Yellowstone National Park’’ in the States, it is one of the hottest in the world with water temperature shooting op at 104*C. It is the hottest in Europe and unique for Bulgaria. This natural phenomenon throws column of piping hot steam 18 meters in height every 6 seconds so is very careful when standing next to it not to be below the falling down water.
Then mineral water from that place is used for diseases of the locomotors system, peripheral nervous system, respiratory organs and skin diseases and is characterized as a hyper thermal. Weakly mineralized, consisting of sulphate, hydro-carbonates, sodium, fluorine, silicon and sulphide .It was used in the ancient time by the Thracians and Romans .The remains of the ancient town or Germaniya is a testament of that.
